...."which car would i rather be in in the event of a head on collision...ummmmm....I'll keep my MB!"

In a head on @ 70 mph, make sure that your last will is up to date.

A Hummer would crush any MB passenger automobile.

wrong....
has everyone forgotten the accident that princess dianna was in?
she was riding in an S class and hit a concrete support pillar of a tunnel at a speculated 60 mph(or more). everyone in the automobile perished except the passenger in the FRONT seat who was wearing his seatbelt. if that doesn't make a person feel safe in a MB that what can????

i drive an 03 GMC 2500HD pickup more than any other vehicle i own. my brother drives an 03 hummer H2. both are very safe vehicles.....but....i'll take my 02 S55 any day in 99.9% of any accidents that i might be in.

there is not a safer automobile made than a MERCEDES!!!

I meant what i said...and i said what i meant!!!

Perhaps your definition of HEAD ON is only yours.

Here is Meriam-Webster's:

1 : with the head or front making the initial contact

<the cars collided head-on>

I repeat:

In a head on @ 70 mph, make sure that your last will is up to date.

A Hummer would crush any MB passenger automobile.

PS:
Your example re Dianne was NOT a head-on.

picky picky
which would you rather hit in the event of an accident karl.
another vehicle coming straight at you or a concrete pillar?
which one do you think would do more damage to the occupants of a vehicle?

Quantitative calculations of dynamics:

The relationship between an object's mass m, its acceleration a, and the applied force F is F = ma.

Acceleration and force are vectors in this law the direction of the force vector is the same as the direction of the acceleration vector.

(Newton's second Law of Motion)

PS:
Head on collision @ 70 mph = 140 mph impact against concrete stationary pillar!

I'll take the Hummer.

so you would rather hit a concrete pillar with a hummer as opposed to an S class. i wouldn't. i doubt the hummer will absorb as much of the impact and distribut it as well as the S class.
i do think size matters but we have to take into account the energy absorbtion of the vehicle. i just don't think the hummer was engineered with the absorbtion capabilities like the S class.
hey...what the hell do i know though!!!

What I prefer, is not to drive in Paris in a Hummer or S sedan.

Least of all, would I like to see a Hummer hit a concrete pillar in a tunnel, which would cause the tunnel to collapse...

...and the Eiffel tower becoming like the leaning tower of Pisa ///

...all caused by the Hummer's brute mass, strength, velocity and the know-how to overcome the inertia of stationary objects.

Any more hypotheticals??

I was in traffic next to the new 04 Rolls last month, that thing is HUGE and has something in size that a Peterbuilt would use for a grille! This thing looks more like a locomotive than a car and I would not want to be in a frontal, side, rear or any type of collision with that car in anything short of an M1A1.
