Card Model 2001 430 E - Blue Tooth radio

I want to upgrade my car so I can use my android phone. I went down the rabbit hole, bought a puck and cradle to replace my factory installed phone, only to learn additional costly electronics needed to be replaced too.

I am exploring a new path and would like some suggestions. Since my cd player is also broken, I want to replace my radio with a new blue tooth radio (for example the Sony MEX-BT5100) that includes a cd player. Can someone give me advice or suggestions. I am in the phx area...

Loretta

Hi Loretta and welcome to the forum. It might not be as costly as you think. I was lucky to have a cradle that accepts the puck but then all I had to do was upgrade to a BT phone. Have you checked http://www.wireless4mb to see if your Android is a compatible phone? With most aftermarket systems you lose some of the nice steering wheel controls.

Re CD player: Do you mean you have the COMAND unit in the dash and the single CD player does not work? You can have that repaired for a lot less than a dealer will charge for a new or refurbished unit.

You have what MB calls a W210 and we have a dedicated forum. Scroll up and look in the sedans section because you might need more help for your car in the future.

Another forum where you can look is called Audio & Electronics. There is a sticky thread at the top explaining quite a bit about can phones.

Unfortunate the puck did not fix my existing cradle for the Startec phone, so i bought a cradle and it did not fit the connections I have without replace the entire phone system.

re; my cd player, its in the trunk (which has always been a pain). Since it no longer works I thought I could get one in a radio along with bluetooth to support by motorola bravo adriod phone.

Please see the Argos system on our site. There are over 11,000 installed (almost 12,000) and it works FLAWLESSLY. No pucks, no cradles, and simply activates ALL factory phone features and functions.

The argos looks like it will work. Can I install this device myself or does it need a technician?

Oops sorry. Yes the Startac phone system is the problem, I had the Motorola v60 so the puck worked. Cartronics has a good reputation and so does Argos.
