Chicago land roads?
Howdy everyone.
I'd like to hear from Benz owners in Chicagoland area if you have the same problem.
I have noticed that in my last two mercs I get allot of shaking driving on local and specially on the highway (40mph and up). I thought there was something wrong with my Clk but when I got S I have the same. Even on 07 S550 I drove yesterday It was even worse.
I'm very puzzled, my wife's 3 series is stiffer yet does not feel anything like the Benz does, not even close. You would have to try and concentrate in order to feel the shaking, what gives?

I drive through every week. Usually 94/294/80/94. Sometimes shoot through downtown Edens/Kennedy/Skyway in the winter months if "780 on the 8s" indicates no traffic, or, there's a big wreck/backup on my normal route.
I also occasionally will take 355 from 80 all the way to 90 when visiting relatives.
Pretty smooth for me. In fact, I get much better gas mileage on Illinois roads than I do in Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Wisconsin roads scrub about a mile a gallon, while Illinois gains me about 2 mpg.
2001 E430 Sport just turning 251,000 miles. Running 235/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rear, on stock 2001 sport wheels.
