Has anyone noticed this trend?

I don't if this is just purely coincidental, but I have noticed with just a limited amount of time spent reserching the more recent models, but it appears as though leather interior is not as common on the C, E, and ML class cars that are in the dealerships currently. I have only been to a one dealer, but have looked at the new inventory of a large dealer in the SF Bay Area. I noticed it is optional on most, if not all of these models.

I haven't been to a dealer in about 5 years since I take my car to a private MB service center.

Is it the cost going up too much and the demand for it dropping on these models?

Anyone have any thoughts on the subject?

I'm new to the Mercedes line but I didn't think you could get one without leather? Seems very unmercedeslike lol

Actually, I am finding that MB Tex is supposed to be more durable, I think due to the costs that they are using leather for the upper end models, but they going towards other materials on at least some AMG models. they mentioned that the C Class uses some new materials called ARTICO and DINAMICA and I have no idea what these materials are. They mention them on the AMG site.
