300 diesel
Hi, I am looking at several 1980-1984 300 diesel wagons. What, if any differences are there in this date range?, are all the engines 5 cyl. And is the legendary reputation of the longevity of these engines truly deserved? What typical problems should i look out for in these older diesels? Any other thoughts you could add to help me make a decision are much appreciated. There are several on ebay that look promising and in my price range, unfortunately i will never see them run
until I pay so i want to make sure I am asking the pertinent questions of the sellers.

Maybe people in the W126 forum would know?
fwiw, a friend of mine had an early 1980s diesel, and he said the engine and chassis were really solid. don't know why he got rid of it, though...
