SL 55 AMG vs 575 Maranello (ROAD & TRACK)
If you have the current (August) issue of Road & Track open it to page 68 and you will notice they chose to run the SL 55 against not the 360, but the 575m, which costs $94,259 more than the SL does.
And what do you get for nearly 100k more?
A car that is .3 seconds faster going 0-100-0.
Hmm... well, I was rather irked (to say the least) when I read this earlier tonight but for some reason my fever has subsided and I don't feel much like vituperating about the PREPOSTEROUS nature of comparing a $228,339 car to a $134,080 car any longer.
I guess the review I just now read a few pages later directly comparing the Ferrari Enzo to a 1994 Kawasaki sport bike has left me rather speechless.
What is going on over at Road & Track?
Later,
Tom

i think your price of the sl55 is inflated? i have many options without a price that high. I was always wanting the ferrari, but i am very happy with the sl55 after owning one.

Someone on the user comments at http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/frame...ar.mv&num=1235 also wondered about comparing to an SL55.
50/50 weight ratio for the 575m seems really nice too.
