Tiptronic
Hello guys!
I have a 09 C300 and I have some question about Tiptronic if you guys don't mind (new to cars in general)
Question: When using tiptronic if you don't upshift will it does automatically once it reach the red (6,7k rpm)? I'm wondering because I was on gear 1 last night and when it reached 6-ish I shifted and it jumped to the third gear. My theory was that the car automatically jumped to the second once it reached 6k and my shift made it shift from second to third. Any ideas?
The other question is, is tiptronic safer to use compared to manual? Such as it won't let the RPM go over 6-ish (or has some kind of protection)
Thanks!

Using tiptronic wears out a 50 cent part in the gear selector. So eventually you will have to take the gear shifter out and buy a new one.
If you must change gears then I highly recommend steering wheel paddles.
