On Selling a Mercedes Benz
Hi, I'm in the market to sell my C320 Avantgarde at the moment. And I've decided to do it via private sale. However, I am paranoid about being car jacked or robbed or similar while in the process.
It is not uncommon to happen, and I was just wondering if people on this forum could give some advice on the best and safest way on handling a private sale, and maybe a few tips on how to get the best deal too!

1-meet in a public place during daytime,
2-make sure you have there full name and phone numbers,
3-bring someone with you,
4-cash only or casiers check,
have the cashiers check drawn from your bank...not his...this way you can call you local banker and check to make sure the check is real not a forgery before he leaves with your car
5-if you have a permit...bring a pistol!!

S55 is right, bring someone BIG with you. After all, you'd need a ride back home if the sales went through, right? And don't forget to ask to see his or her driver license and write down the infor if the deal is done. When I sold my Montero, I asked to copy the buyer's license. And don't forget a cell phone in case you want to call the bank to verify. Good luck.
