I wonder why it is that Mercedes has chosen to slowly phase out the single wiper mechanism. I know that there was a lot of flack for it over the years about not being fast enough, but on my E in the hard rain I have never had any problems. The only reason it drew criticism is because it was "different" and the so-called Japanese "luxury" car manufacturers didn't copy it. (Probably because they could find a way to make the design out of plastic).
What does everyone else think?

 

Love the single wiper feature on my CLK.

I particularly like the "rain-sensor control" setting, which adjusts wiper speed to any rain percipitation intensity - automatically.

Sorry to see it phased out.

 

I also like the single wiper. It was cool.
