bose humming

94-500sl
bose humming

I have a 94 sl500. My left side bose speakers humm and dont work when its cold outside. When the car warms up the left side speakers goes on. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Mercedes-Benzes: 2005 ML500, 2002 E320 4-Matic, 1993 300E, 1994 E320, AND 1999 C230 KOMPRESSOR
It could be the amplifier or the radio, but check before replacing. Each speaker has its own amplifier built-in (if my memory serves me right). Need to check the voice coil resistance on the speaker (should be between 4 ohms to 8 ohms)...depending on the speaker. If speaker is within specifications, need to use a "test speaker" and remove the factory speaker and install the "test speaker." If you still have no sound then you must check the radio output A/C signal for the speakers via Oscilloscope unless you have a "test radio" to do a quick swap for test purpose.
