Confused about C300 4matic engine specifications
I need your help to clear up a confusion. Today, I went to my MB dealership and they had special offers on the 2012 C300 4matic cars. They told me it is a 2.8L 228 hp engine and it has the Blueefficiency sign on the side of the car.
From my knowledge, there is a 3.0L 228hp v6 engine with 300 nm of torque as well as the more recent 3.5L that produces 248 hp and 350 nm of torque. Also, from what I've read, the later seems to be the only "Blueefficiency". The 3 liter engine has been around for years now but if that is the case, then why are they labeling it as Bluefficiency when it isn't? Would it be easy to verify this just by looking under the car's hood? If the engine looks like the 2007 s350 engine then it is the old 3.0 L engine and if it looks like the latest s350 blueefficiency engine then it has to be the most recent 3.5L engine right?
The salesman seemed clueless and confirmed that the 2012 model is actually fitted with the Blueefficiency engine, but I want to make sure I know what I am buying.
Please help me clarify this misunderstanding.
Thanks!
