I bought my very first Mercedes in 1971. It was a 220D (Diesel) sedan. It had a manual transmission, a manual sunroof, and manual (crank-up) windows. No power steering or brakes. MB Tex upholstery. I paid around $6,000 for it, and sold it (with 187,000 miles) in 1980 for $3,000. I replaced it at that time with a new 1980 240D, likewise all manual.

I still have the original window sticker of the 220D and a photo of it is attached.

I am driving a 2012 ML350 Bluetec Diesel today (nothing manual!!).
