Dealer Buyback Process (lemon?)
I find myself in the unfortunate position where we are discussing giving back our 2013 GLK 350. We bought it with 10,500 miles on it coming out of service loaner status very late in June. Since we've had it, a bit over 3 months, it's been in the shop for about 6 weeks for a lot of different things. We typically do about 1,500 miles a month, but due to the extensive service visits we've only put a few thousand miles on it. Here are the larger items:
-needed all four corners brakes replaced
-transmission replaced
-crazy electrical issues resulting in MB having to send new programming to try
-Command system is now audibly loud when on (like a whirring noise, did not happen on the other 2013's on the lot with similar configuration)
All this has been repaired under warranty and the dealer we are working with has been great (they're the ones that suggested the buyback). They say they have been in touch with Mercedes and I am speaking with the dealer GM today.
I was hoping that someone here could give some advice on how this process went for them or has gone for anyone that has been through it that they know. They mentioned trade assistance but no clue what that means (could guess it means they cover the gap between my car and a new one maybe?).
Thanks in advance. This has been a bummer with it being my first MB purchase.....but I do believe that I just got a bad car. When it's running right we love it.
Brian
