Are you buying new? -OR- Looking for a great used deal?
These are big difference in your buying activities...
For me buying used has proven to be the best bang for the buck.
I look for cars approaching 100K miles, around 5 years old, and end up buying for around 1/3 of the new MSRP prices.
Look online at Autotrader, and the many other national sites to get a clear idea of what is being asked for the model you want, then find a couple locally, and only buy if the car is perfect, and you can get it for the best price you have found online (or better!).
We stay away from Benz dealerships, except for FREE car washes. Repairs at reputable indy service places will also save a ton!
The beauty of Benz is that they do not show wear like many other cars, and do last a very long time if properly maintained. A friend of mine said it this way...'A three-year old luxury car (Benz, BMW, Lexus, etc.) is like a new regular car, a 5-yr old is like a 2nd year reg, and so on...'
Both my Benzes were bought this way, and they are still 'cream puffs' that look and drive like new, for way less $$$$$.
On the other hand, if you are rolling in dough, and only buy new, more power to you!
