IF MB OUTSOURCES MFGing - IS IT REBADGING?
If the E-Class W211 is built buy these guys:
http://www.magnasteyr.com/
Is that still considered a true Mercedes? Or is it a rebadged, so to speak, by magnasteyr?

No, because the design and the car itself is a Mercedes. If you say an E-Class is not an MB because it's built by Magna Steyr, then you must also think that the G-Class is not an MB (it has always been built by Magna Steyr), the same for the CLK (built by Karmann), the ML (built by MBUSI in the US), etc.
BMW and other companies do the same. Magna Steyr, for example, produces not only MB's and Chryslers, but also BMW's X3, some Volvo's, etc.
