Interesting...to "authorities" this may sound reasonable; however, it will only be a matter of time before hackers / auto thieves figure how to break the code. Moreover, what's next? A remote openning plan for homes?
Better watch this one...if the EU approves / implements, how long before the U.S. embraces it? Hell, just look at the row over whether the NSA and the USG's secret court overstepped its boundries... Protection is one thing (incl protection from hackers / auto thieves); invasion of privacy / individual rights is another.
