I wanted to get my windows tinted. I went to my MB dealership and they gave me an estimate of $400+tax. My friends told me that's a rip off and go elsewhere. I called two other reputable place and then quoted me at around $120. My question is has anyone ever had there windows tinted by a Mercedes dealer? Is there a difference? If they really don't do a better job I would obviously like to go elsewhere.

Dealers do not tint. They call in someone who does mobile tinting or take the car to a tint shop. So at the end of the day the dealer needs to make money and the tinter needs to make money and you get stuck with the bill. Just go to your local reputable tint shop. Most these days provide warrantys.

I always get the dealer to do the tints when I buy my cars, I get them to do it after we agree on a price for the car lol never had any problems with it
