Thumbs up Just purchased a new 03 M5

hey everyone,

i still can't believe i did it, but i just picked up a brand new 03 BMW M5. i've been out test driving different brands and my local BMW dealer had their last M5 sitting in the showroom. i only went to this dealer to test drive the new 04 A8L. after driving the A8L(which was very nice) i just couldn't take my eyes off of the M5! all it took was one test drive and i was hooked!!!

the car is silver with black interior and is very well equipped. the MSRP was $74570.00. i paid $69479.00. i feel it was a great deal.
the car drives beautifully and the fit and finish are excellent.
just in case you guys think i've been completely seduced by the dark side...keep in mind i still love my 02 ML500!!!

Congrats!! When you look at the whole realm of attributes to judge a car.....the M5 is almost impossible to beat.

As I said in an earlier post...I wish MB would tune the suspension and steering on the AMG models as "road race tuned" as the BMW M series....instead, AMG just uses stiffer settings, springs, etc. on the original suspension design of the regular models rather than designing an original new set-up for the AMG's which have kick butt engines but could use a better overall systemic suspension design......car press always calls MB on this.

BTW, does the M5 have that iDrive that's hard to negotiate as on the 7 series?

Also, don't feel bad about buying a bimmer.....I wanted an SUV that could "truly" go off road on the toughest realms there are and I went with a BMW....or I should say the 2004 Range Rover which is all BMW....got produced before BMW sold to Ford. The G is almost as capable in off road but was a bad on road ride...IMO.

thanks mercmaniac,

this car really grabbed me.
i've never driven a car that feels the way this car feels behind the wheel. i know it sounds strange but it's true .
as for the i drive it doesn't have that set up.
the car has all of the options you would expect along with a DVD navigation system that i will have to read the
manual to operate properly. it also an enhanced audio system that sounds really great.

a Land Rover dealer just moved into my area. the range rover imho is worth every penny. the interior is just spectacular. add the BMW motor and you have an SUV from the gods!!!
