Use soap when washing car with hose-brush?
Is it necessary to use soap and water when washing your car with a hose-brush?
We have been using a hose-brush alone (no soap) for a while and recently noticed swirling lines on the surface of the car!
Have these lines been caused by the bristles of the brush because no soap has been used?

Hose brush....ouch!
Check the detailing forum for cleaning recommendations. You can get rid of the swirl marks but continued use of the brush on your paint will bring them back. Soap is a lubricant that helps lift and remove contaminants from the paint and should be used whenever washing a car.

Put up the hose brush for good. Use a lambs wool wash mitt with Meguairs Tech wash. Al Boston runs the detailing forum on this site......fantastic info on every aspect of detailing.

We have really hard water here, and if you don't use soap, the H20 will leave nasty streaks all over.
Use the above mentioned Meguiars, and you're GTG.
