1998 Mercedes e320
Door pin change and tip.

Like many others I did not like the cheap look of the plastic door pins on my '98 E320, so I bought a 'fancy' set off ebay to replace them. Thought it was a very nice improvement till I went for a drive, and these pins rattled inside the metal door ferrules that came with the pins. It annoyed me, so a solution was in order, and here is what I came up with. Note that the pins I purchased had 3 'grip grooves' around the top, so I went to my local hardware store and got some O-rings that fit said grooves, and put one on each pin. Then I adjusted the height of the pins so that when they lock the O-ring just cradles into the ferrule, and wa-la, no more annoying rattle. Hopefully this will help some others that intend to do a door pin change.
