Non-MB
Mitsubishi and DaimlerChrysler

Admittedly, I know little about MB's corporate structure, but was surpised to learn that DaimlerChrysler AG is Mitsubishi's largest shareholder, holding 37%.

It will apparently also raise its holdings of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corp., the Mitsubishi truck division/subsidiary to 65 percent by buying another 22 percent of the truck-maker shortly.

DaimlerChrylser also holds majority shares in other companies such as Airbus and Detroit Diesel among others, the companies under DC are truly from all areas.

Not surprising since Mitsubishi and Chrylser are close business partners that produced many shared platforms in the past and have had joint ventures.

Daimler Chrysler calls them strategic partners, Hyundi also. Guess they're proud to have some companies underneath them. Maybe trying to follow Ford and GM when they started buying car companies.

Almost all car companies today are affiliated with another these days. It's near impossible to be an independent in today's automotive industry.
