M coupe is ugly but an amazing vehicle to me for it is for a few people. They rarely make cars like that anymore. 350Z looks horrible top up and a lil chunky without the roof. But what an exhaust note!

Are u kidding me?
The two cars serve different purposes and are in drastically different price ranges. Perhaps the same can be said for someone who's considering a S class versus a Toyota Avalon, for example.
Comparing the Z convertible and the 3 series convertible will be much more meaningful.

SL's are nice and all but I would have to go with the G35. The 350Z is cool, but go for the Infiniti. I agree with zluster on the 300ZX TT thing. That's my dream car and would sell my Benz in two seconds for it.

Right now it has 9034 miles on it. It was wrecked on the front.....a buddy of mine bought it did the exspensive and hard work and now is ready to give up on it....so Im looking at buying it for 6k....for a car that will be worth about 16k after I invest about 1500 into it..... hehe....but I dont need to go on about ME........

Even today 300zxs hold their value very well.... now if they had continued to import them untill 2000 like in japan....the value would be comparable to a benz in the intial price range....

Benzes only hold value if you don't drive them.

Look the benz is a road cruiser..and a very nice car....but its not quite the same as a "real" sportscar(not calling the benz not a real sportscar...)
If you want something to play around and tune up, throw on some turbos or even the stillen SC then get Nissan...otherwise the benz will be fine...

1. The 300z's are notorious for electical problems and fires.
2. My SLK had 9,000 miles on her and I still lost a ton of money on the sale.
3. Your comparing a Luxury Sporty Car to a Sports Car {in the loosest sense of the word}.
Personally, I wouldn't go with either, but thats just me.
300z - Problematic
350z - Ugly, rough ride, noisy, WTF is with the RSTB - it takes up 50% of the trunk?
SL - Older, Cloth Roof {ugh}, looks like you can't afford the newer SLs.
It's a tough call.

lol...you do know..
The benz drivers are notorious for being *******s? But it doesn't make it true.
1) Perhaps what you are thinking of are the first generation of 300zx's that had a recall in the injectors.
Electrical problems? Worst the 90+ 300zxs had were bad injector connectors that crack with age that can be easily and cheaply replaced.
2) If you bought the car new what do you expect when selling it with those many miles?
A 1996 300zx TT with 9000 miles is worth half of what it was new now.
3) Which one is in the loosest sense?
"SL - Older, Cloth Roof {ugh}, looks like you can't afford the newer SLs."
-Ya we all know how much what others think about our financial status matters.

2004 SL55 AMG
Personally, I love the enduring elegance of the R129 SLs, especially the V12 roadster with the 5-spoke AMG wheels. I see the older generation of SLs all over Los Angeles, and it's actually a treat when you see one that's well taken care of nad Stock. It's kind of like the 993TTs (Especially BLACK) that never grow out-of-style or appear cheap in comparison to new models. Technology always improves with time, but styling and elegance can be timeless.

If I had the choice,
'04 Cobra all the way.
$30,000 for the car.
$1000 for suspension (that will outhandle 90% of cars out there).
$5000 Kenne Bell Twin Screw supercharger to replace the stock one and automaticallly your car will have 600 hp.
That's only $36,000 and change.
How much fun would THAT be!?

2002 E55 AMG
Now that I'm thinking about it, it is a very tough decision. My uncles R129 looks really great with those 18 inch AMG SL 2 piece rims. On the other hand, the 350Z is very good looking (not the 17 inch rims). With the SL's M119 engine, they both have roughly the same perfromance times (correct me if i'm wrong).
