Question How to de-badge?

How do you de-badge your car? Do you need special equipment or do you need to take it to a shop?

some floss will do. Use floss to slice through the emblems. To get the rest of the goo off use glugone. Or use your fingers and a hair dryer.

A bucket on wheels
use a hire dryer to melt the glue or whatever they use under the emblems(watch out to not melt the paint) and then use floss to take it off.

Have any of you guys actually performed this operation yourself? How do you stick it back on?

Go to a body shop or auto paint store and get the proper 3-M double back tape. I had bad luck, my C36 "6" took a piece of paint with it. $300 later everything was fine. I was using a hair dryer and Kevlar dental floss ... boy was I pissed. That stuff gets tougher with age.

moebisgold is right. If you want to debadge I suggest doing it sooner rather than later.

I used dental floss on the V8 Kompressor emblems the day after I got my car. They came off very eaisly.

i guess floss and a hairdryer would work, (i thought you guys were just joking) or you can use "goo gone" from home depot. i poured some on my badges of my 1995 C280 just a month ago and they came off clean. my brother used it on his E320 too after i told him how i did mine and same great result.

Goo gone & scratch remover. Depending on how imprinted it is into the finish you might need to follow up with a pc in order to completely remove all marks.

We need to get a swap going here! All the de-badgers, list your stuff for the guys who are trying to make their rides look like amgs and everyone's happy
