These are by far the best and original Mercedes shots I've ever seen. I would have my car chromed anytime. This looks awesome. Thanks for posting this link.

I don't think they are actually chromed. I think this is paint. To be chromed the cars would have to be disassembled and each part chromed seperatelly. I also saw a picture of audi but this one was all aluminum and it looked like it was chromed it looked so cool too.

You are correct. It isn't chrome, it is paint.

Can't chrome plastic parts like the CL's Rear trunk lid and front fenders. Nor can you chrome the aluminum hood either.

After thinking about this, you couldn't chrome the bumpers as they are plastic as well.

The chrome color paint looks cool though.

I think they're chrome

Mercedes models in full chrome livery are a sight not to be missed.

The idea of the shining chrome was Dietmar Henneka's own.

You are wrong...you can chrome plastic and aluminum. I do it for a living. It's called Metallization. It's a process of evaporating aluminum under Vacuum. I built a machine for a company that makes after market truck products, Dee Zee.
How do you think they chrome the inside door handles?! Or tail lights and head lights?! They are plastic.

I thought that it's possible, I still think that they are probably painted cause going through the pain of disassembly of so many cars and chroming for purpose of pictures is crazy.

I seriously doubt it's paint. It's not as hard as you think to chrome a car like that. Think about it. Besides I have never seen paint that wil do that. And I've been in this business for almost 10 years.

Why not go through the trouble?! They would make killer show or promotional vehicles!

They said it was chrome. And this is the factory we're talking about. Chroming these babies is like a walk in the park for em. Imagine the weight... defeats the purpose of a AMG eh?
