Read the manual.

Or, let me borrow your car. I'll break it in nicely for ya.

congrats on your new car, fir the first 1000 miles dont push the revs past 4k, avoid hard accelerations, and dont use the shifter yourself. GL with it!

With all cars I break in, I start off by reading the manual. It will have some very good information about how long the break in period lasts and what to do and not do. At the end of the break in period, I start to drive the car a little harder and faster until I am at full throttle starts and redline shifts within another 3-400 miles. Usually, another 1000 RPM every 100 miles.

In this time, I also go over the car with a fine toothed comb, looking for defects and problems. I operate every switch, lever and feature to make sure they all work. The biggest thing that I find is squeeks and rattles. It helps to have a friend witha critical ear for this. By the time MY break in period is over, I have found several items to have repaired under warranty. I also have the dealer change the oil and filter.
