College project>M113 E50 "swap"

Hello everyone!
First of all I want to apologize if I posted wrong this thread.
Well I'm in first year at College and I develop a project, more exactly a race car(pretty same as a monopost). So I want to put this engine M113 E50 I found one at wreckyard the engine is still on the car so I can get anything I need.
Now things are dificult because I don't know exactly wich parts I realy need I mean to start the engine. As I've seen is a difficult engine because have more electronics on it.The car will be a mid-engine project and guess what the car will be manual in spite of automatic engine's gearbox. This problem is almost rezolved I talked with a mecanic and he said with a proper flange between engine and gearbox I can fix that gearbox on this engine but my question is if I can make the engine start and of course run with that gearbox? and what I need for this?
I thought to buy the engine+ECU+all harnesses that came with the engine but how I am under budget I can't afford to spend the money on things that will don't use.
I hope You can understand what I whrite here and although can help me.
P.S:Sorry for my bad english I'm still learning everyday.

Wow, I didn’t even know that students were entrusted with such projects in their first year of study! I can’t even imagine how incredible a specialist you will be by the time you graduate. I just remember how at papersbattle.com I read reviews of the best paper writing services. Since philology was clearly not my specialty

If you are serious about completing this project, and graduating while not under extreme debt (other than that required for tuition), talk to your mechanic and get /his/ opinion as to what is a commonly- and locally-available engine at a low cost that would work for this project. It may well be no more expensive to buy a running car with this engine, with a scrap body and interior but decent engine, which would then have all parts required. It may make for a good project to take the engine with everything required from this "parts car" and adapt it to your project. At least you know it /should/ run, and would not cost an arm and a leg. Taking a junkyard V8 from a CLS sound like a money pit that might never be finished, or paid for, by the time you graduate.

And you really wouldn't have to give up high performance, if that is what you're looking for. Mazda Miata engines are easily tuned to 200 hp or more, and your space frame design car may weigh in close to half of a Miata, making it quite a performer. I'd much rather try to drive that than put a 500+ hp V8 (the M113 E50 can produce much more) in a home built chassis and suspension and expect good handling. Walk before you Run, grasshopper!
