MB competitor to Range Rover

Yes, I know the G500 is a killer off road vehicle. Was wondering if MB was coming out with an SUV version that competes with the Range Rover.........duality, terrific "true" off road capabilities and great on road manners?

After my RR ages out I hope that MB will have something in its line-up that competes......since by that time RR will be all Jag/Ford instead of current BMW....yuk!

While it won't exactly be a competitor to the RR, there is supposed to be a D class which will be a competitor to the X3.

The new (W164) ML will have a long-wheelbase version which will be a bit bigger than the current ML.

The G-Class, whose production will end very shortly, may be replaced by a toughened-up, W164 ML-based SUV, named either G or MLG. If so, they'll equip it with locking diffs, etc. The size, however, is not certain. It may be a bit smaller or larger than the ML...

The W164 is coming out late summer / early fall this year along with the R-Class (GST) - presumably, any G-Class replacement would come about a year or so later.

It would be awhile. Only the LX 470 is the RR competition.
