Iridium silver VS Brilliant silver
I've recently had my bumper resprayed and can't help looking at it and noticing its a different colour to the rest of the car. It might just be me, but when I look at it, it looks a different shade and a hint of gold.
When I took it to the garage where it's well known for excellent service and quality, the job looked brilliant and the car inside and out was immaculate, however the colour didn't appear right.
The owner of that garage Said we went off the colour code, which is brilliant silver, however I know this to be the old style of silver up until around 2014 when Iridum silver was introduced, a lighter and whiter looking silver. Where as brilliant silver has a gold tint/hue to it.
Can iridium Silver be bought from the manufacturer or does it just come as silver and Mercedes have named it Iridium Silver?
On doing a Google search iridium is a purer whiter silver, and brilliant has a gollden duller/darker grey look to it.
What would you guys say the difference is between the two colours?
I've uploaded a picture of my car after it's been sprayed below.
Does the bumper look a different shade/colour to the wing?
Iridium silver came out in 2006 I believe at the same time 0744 brilliant silver was dropped. A new one called 755u Bright silver came along
