Dear reader,
I recently bought a Mercedes-Benz ML320 CDI. I had an issue with it that drove me insane! The A/C would blow very cold, and after a few minutes of the cold air; it then would start blowing humid and soggy air for 10 minutes, and then revert back to cold, and it was doing it inconsistently. I immediately thought that I bought a car with a faulty A/C. I took it to my mechanic; he said nothing was wrong with the system. The refrigerant was full, and everything checked out ok, but the issue consisted. I told my mechanic to plug the scanner in the ECU, the computer that operates car, to see if there were any codes showing. There was one code saying that the compressor had a bad ground, so my mechanic changed that, and he said if the problem consists, we'll probably have to change the harness. I got the car back after he changed the ground, but the problem consisted, so he changed the harness, but the issue still consisted. I was extremely stressed out because we couldn't find the issue. Also, I didn't want to go to the $tealership for obvious reasons. I started researching on these forms to see people with similar issues. I read and researched for a few days; there were so many diagnoses for the one issue I had. I ended up taking it to the dealer (after my mechanic told me that the dealer has a scanner specific to each model of car which can pinpoint the issue). The dealership told me that the A/C step up blower had to be resynced to the cars A/C module. The dealer charged me $180.47 (not bad at all). I just created this account to let people around the world to know the issue I had, and maybe it will help one of yall out there. The Ml is a wonderful car. Very comfortable! If anyone has an issue near this one please post on this thread, and I will try my hardest to help because this issue drove me nuts!
