How to know what tune previous owner installled?
Hello everyone. I bought an 04 E55 AMG Jan of 2015. Awesome car. So much fun to drive. I just got the call up for emissions testing and was rejected three times here in Illinois for sensors not ready. Did all of the drive cycles I could find. Finally took it to my mechanic and found out the previous owner had it tuned. My guy is telling me that without the specific tune, he can't reflash to stock without screwing a lot of other stuff. Says the only solution without knowing the exact tune is to replace the ECU. $2600! I can't locate the previous owner because I bought it from a used car dealer who got it from an auction in Milwaukee. Does anyone know how I might identify what tune was done? I would really appreciate any help re this matter. Thanks in advance.

I don't want to get a box tune, would rather do it myself, and I'm having a hell of a time finding anything relating to tuning on these cars (s600 specifically)
