Interesting. Kind of consistent with how other car companies seem to view the future of automobile design and automotive functionality. Cars essentially become what I would call fully autonomous transportation pods. You get in, tell the car where you want to go and then sit back and entertain yourself with various multi-media toys until the car delivers you to your destination. I guess that appeals to some people and would probably cut down on the number of accidents caused by distracted drivers endlessly playing with their cell phones or whatever else other than paying attention to the road and their surroundings.
However, for those of us who actually enjoying driving, it sounds a bit boring honestly. The focus seems exclusively on turning the car of the future into an extension of your living room just with wheels. MB has laid out a nice vision of how they intend to get there in this video. It's just not necessarily what all MB owners buy a MB for. Where is the emphasis on creating a more pleasurable, engaging driving experience in the future? I can't imagine most AMG owners would find this future particularly appealing.
Anyway, thanks very much for posting the video. It was extremely educational in outlining the future direction of MB.
