hi everyone I am new to the forum and thought I make a DIY for the Mercedes 204 light switch.
I had the right side parking lights coming on by themselves two three times a week draining my battery.
could not find a DIY for this. (only DIY for changing the switch witch is quite expensive.
I decided to open up the switch itself to see if I could find something.
first thing I noticed was the pins for the connector!!
they are not soldered just press fitted thru the circuit board
soldered this pins and my car has now bin fine for about 4 weeks.
maybe this can fix other issues with the switch. I don't know.

Hi!!! Right today i had the same problem with battery, read some information, people says that you have to clear this pins with 99% alcohol, i havent tried yet, i think i'll do it on weekends. Can you send me some pics how to unscrew this light switch. Thanx.

take out the little fuse box. put your hand in behind the switch an depress the three metal tabs one at the top and two from below.
now push the switch out.
carefully take it apart as there at two small springs inside.
Last night in my experiments to reapair the loghtswitch I noticed the lever was a little loose and I tried to heat it with the hair dryer to make the plastic shrink and apparenly it worked, I used to have problem with my right lights turning on by themselves, also my headlights came off constantly, it now is working fine.
I got the same issue. Headlight only works in Auto mode. Manual position sporadically turns off the lights or causing one side light to turn on or blink by itself. Or staying on after closing the car.
Just apply a bit of solder on the back side on those press-fit pins. So far so good.
