Is there any way to get service records on a car I just bought from MB? I was told it was serviced at the dealership and I'd like to have those records.

Most dealers offer a free inspection to new owners of used MB and if you talk nicely to the service rep he can print or show you all the documentation on the vehicle that's in his system!!


PS: don't go in at 8am!!

You want the "Vehicle Master Inquiry". My dealer gave it to me while we were completing the sale. BTW it clearly states on the top "For Internal Use Only". So just because some of us got ours doesn't mean you can get it as well. Be nice. Tell them you're a real car nut.

pay and get a Car fax on your car. It will list every time it was taken to a dealer and list what was done to the car. I use it when I looking at used cars to buy to check to see if maintenance was being performed on the car. First, I would ask the dealer to give me a print out or maybe call Mercedes Benz and give them your VIN an ask them for a service record.

I have the Carfax version and it's pretty good. I was just thinking the MB records would be more detailed.

Believe me, you want the VMI if you can get it. I looked at a white 2014 ML350 4matic with cooled seats. The VMI showed that the sunroof leaked and had been repaired, and just before it went on the CPO market 2 left side tires and rims had to be replaced. I did not get the warm and fuzzies. The VMI for the car I did buy shows that the only warranty work done to it was to clean the evaporator. It also showed everything that was touched during the CPO process, including new batts for the Keyless Go, 4 wheel alignment and balance, A service, and another evap cleaning. I guess the previous owner drove around on recirculate all the time.
