Common Issue with Many Models Looking for Solution
I am having similar codes on my 07 CL 550 as my friends 12 SLK 350 and it seems this pattern of codes always seem to occur or come up together at the same time. In an effort not to spend a fortune on parts only to find out it dosnt get rid of the codes. I am posting here in hopes that another MB owner or even another MB technician comes across this post and has the answer to this problem.
The problem is these codes occurring simultaneously.
After scanning with DAS there Mercedes Benz specific codes come up together.
1337 Alternator Serial Interface
0228 Throttle Valve Jamming or Iced Up
0442 Heating component of O2 Sensor short or open circuit( Right O2 Sensor Before TWC)
0446 Same codes as above but left side
It appears that when all these codes all come up together some of these codes can be "Ghost codes" or in other words codes appearing when the actual problem doesn't exist. Causing some to spend a lot of money on a lot of parts only to find out the codes dont go away!
As for me and I am only guessing here but an educated guess would be to start with the Alternator voltage regulator. Ive already replaced the O2 sensors with a pair of good used ones but no help there. Im a retired Benz Tech and I am sure this whole scenario is cause by one thing. If I were still working at MB service dept I would know what the answer is but its been over 20 yrs ago for me and long before the new systems were created.
Please help if you have encountered this same or similar set of codes and post what ultimately cured the problem here THANK YOU!
