Simple fix for consumer battery drain

Afternoon all,the last couple of weeks has been a real drag,my SL55 ran into the dreaded consumer battery drain.Got my car to my mechanic and for the last 2 days,he's been trouble shooting the system.hooked the car up to the star computer and it showed a big draw from the alarm siren seems the alarm shorted out and pulled the consumer battery down,it killed 1 battery.but the alarm was the culpit, changed out the alarm ,charging system works, last long timethank god for a good mechanic
