Xenon Headlamp kaput - after 100 hours!

While going in for an overhead aspirator fan replacement, MB service claimed a
XENON headlamp was burned out & replaced it under warranty.

Had the car for 6 months & driven for 9,000 miles. The car is rarely driven at
night.

My max. est. nighttime driving: less than 100 hours!

I was told by a Porsche dealer, when considering a 996/911, that the Xenon
lights last a lifetime.

What is the truth; what gives; what is your experience with your Xenon
headlamps?

i heard from somewhere before that a standard xenon bulb should last around 2200 hrs or something to that extent....don't know if i'm right but someone told me that once....but it doesn't matter....you got it replaced free of charge.....
