Would you trust a PPI to non-dealer or non Euro / Indy shop?

Hello,

Wanted to get some thoughts on PPI's and how much value people place on having it done at a dealer or reputable Euro / Indy shop? I am looking at a MB from and the seller is a 1.5 hour drive from an Euro Indy. The only shops in his home town are local mechanics. I am a little hesitant to rely on them.

thanks for any input!

If you are paying more that 500 bucks for the car go to a dealer---if the seller bauks, be patient another rust bucket will come up plus it will stop your whining here when have to change out the ash tray for the first time!!

Appreciate your candor. It's an E63 for $500.01.....so I'll get it to the dealer and make sure they inspect the ash tray.

Not sure I'd go with a general mechanic versus an experienced MB mechanic........

I bought a used Volvo once and had a PPI done at a local wrench turner.....and had continuing issue's.....not to say that it was 'billy bobs' fault, but maybe someone more experienced with the marque would have been more helpful.

Good luck, lots of cars out there to buy

Thanks yea, I prefer an experienced MB mechanic and pushing for it but the owner lives far away and its a logistical pain. I have a good history of the car so I was considering it.
