Center Console Ashtray Conversion to Storage Space
My 2016 E400 Coupe (c207) came with an ashtray and cigarette lighter under a popup cover in the center console. In previous model years, this area would have housed the transmission shift lever, but my shifter is on the steering column. My car does not have the sliding cover panel in the console; the cupholders are immediately in front of the center dash stack and are always exposed (no cover for them), and the ashtray with popup cover is between the cupholders and the COMAND control knob deck. Does anyone know if there is a part/kit available to convert the ashtray/lighter to a storage space (preferably converting the lighter to a power outlet as well) that could house items like sunglasses, a phone, etc?
