AMG C 55
Dear AMG-friends,
we are very happy to see such great interest in founding an US AMG Owners Club. We are confident that such a club could give you as much pleasure as us (since 2001).
We think that it is justified and important that AMG supports such an idea in it's by far biggest market. That's why we negotiated this topic with AMG for more than a year now.
We are deeply sorry (!) that we have to give you bad news: The responsible employee (senior manager key accounts) and the AMG board of directors agreed, that there is absolutely no budget and no manpower available to support any international AMG Owners Clubs.
We are still unable to understand this decision, since it involves the persons being responsible for AMG's success: Us customers.
AMG made it clear that this decision is final. The only AMG Owners Club receiving any support at all are the officially recognized Clubs in Gemany and Switzerland. And even (t)here, the support is basically limited to the answers of our technical questions.
But we won't let that stop us! We offer an eventual AMG Owners Club US our full support. Just like we already offered it the AMG Owners Clubs Switzerland, England and Italy (the first two are currently even building a joint Internet Portal with us). If some of you decide to found and run an AMG Owners Club, we offer to help with all the details based on our experience.
Now, don't let the missing support from AMG Germany stop you. Technical support would only have been possible through MBUSA anyway.
Our suggestions for you:
I hope you understand that the first step has to come from you. A small team has to contact us with a detailled plan. We are sure that MB USA will realize the potential of such a club and will support you. It might even be possible to found the AMG Owners Club US as a special chapter/section of the Official Mercedes Club of America!?.
We would be pleased to see you contacting us with your detailed desires and suggestions. Maybe the owners of the MBWorld forum are even so generous to create a new (temporary) section for this venture to collect ideas and to get feedback from possible future members.
I think such a highly visited and worldwide recognized forum (congrats) would be the ideal place, but in case this isn't possible due to organizational or technical reasons, we offer to create and host such a platform on our website.
All of this should be seen as suggestions only in hope of a productive cooperation. We do not want to make the impression as an officially recognized club, to interfere with your visions in any way or even set up demands. For us, the official recognition is just a technicality and for us it makes no difference if AMG recognizes you or not. The only thing we see and are interested in ist the AMG-customer and AMG-fan: us - worldwide
Special greets from all AMG-Club members Germany/Switzerland
naturally also of me :-)

Our suggestions for you:
- deciding on a small project team (temporary board of directors) - excellent would be if it would include someone familiar with the internal American Mercedes-Benz structure
- contacting the founder of the AMG Owners Club England who would like to exchange his vision and plans with you
- creating a detailed concept (goals, possible activities, club structure, member potential,..) to present MBUSA or the America Mercedes Club
- contacting MB USA - Technical support needs to be guaranteed by MBUSA. A recognition as an official AMG Owners Club would be helpful as well (including the right to publish copyrighted material like logos, press photos, texts,...) We offer to partially assist MBUSA if necessary.
- coordination of further activities - We can offer many ways of an official cooperation. Our vision is a worldwide customer's network, but we are always open for new ideas.

I really hope this new site goes through. I'm a new AMG owner coming from a previously VERY active forum, and I'm getting tired of the low posting rate on this board. Let' spick it up people!! You can't be driving your cars ALL DAY long can you? I mean I understand the enthusiasm of the drive but come on.

AMG owners club US chapter
I would like to take on the leadership necessary to get the US AMG owner's club started. If everyone is still interested, e-mail me and let's get a meeting together. I think that even without the initial support of MBUSA, eventually when the membership is large enough, it will grab MB's attention and would be beneficial for everyone.
As far as I'm concern, having an AMG club in US is a cheap way of advertisement, marketing, and public relations for MBUSA.
I want the President position. No joke!!! I've seen several mbworld members interested who are from the west coast (to include CA, NV, AZ, OR, and WA). So we can actually start just a small chapter initially. I think the time to get this started is now. I've seen many postings about this for about a year now and I haven't seen any solid plans to proceed.
During the first meeting, we need to put together the board members and we can work together on our vision and mission statement, guiding principles, and strategic objectives for the club and its members.
I may be behind the curve if there is already an AMG US owners club since the last posting. If not, if I can everyone's support, I'll take on getting everything organized.

There is no official AMG club in the U.S. Primarily, I believe, due to the fact that AMG, DC or MBUSA won't officially sanction the club.
MBCA has initiated enthusiast groups, of which the AMG Enthusiast Group will be included.
Five years ago this may have been possible (forming the AMG/US club) - on an "official" basis. However, with the formation of the MBCCCI this appears more and more doubtful.
Look here.....
http://www.mercedes-benz.com/com/e/h...ces/index.html
Got to get them to agree on letting your AMG/U.S. Club use the Mercedes-Benz Star and AMG logos. Probably an uphill battle....
Good luck
p.s. If you do get it going, let me know how much $$$ dues are
