Considering importing my Mercedes from Mexico to United States

Hello all
I am looking to import my 2018 A45 AMG to the states.
everything I read points to obtaining a letter from Mercedes (and possible stickers)on crash testing and emissions that meet United States standards.
this model is not imported to the states.
does Mercedes build to international universal standards?
it seems pretty straight forward but confusing at the same time.
i love this car and want to bring it with me if possible.
anybodys help would be greatly appreciated

Importing non-US spec cars to the USA is largely cost prohibitive, because you would have to get it certified and crash tested in the USA, unless it is an exempt classic. There are some other ways like the substantially similar clause, which mostly applies to cars imported from Canada. Here's an article that gives an overview of how to import cars to the USA. Your best bet is to hire a company and customs broker that does this for a living. This is not a straight forward process to navigate, and most likely you'll be better off selling the car and buy a new one in the USA.
