Extended Warranty Advice
Hello all. I recently purchased a 2017 E300 that is still under factory warranty. I went to the local dealer to inquire about purchasing and extended warranty just to find that since I didn't buy my car from a Mercedes dealer I can not get the car certified and get the extended Mercedes warranty. I have to get a one of those third party warranties. Has anyone out there got an opinion on who provides the most comprehensive policy and could perhaps share their experiences when having to use their policy? I have a feeling with this care it would be a good idea to stay covered after the factory warranty expires.

Generally, warranties are insurance policies. Insurance policies generally bring in more money in the form of premia, than they pay out in claims. If this fits your personal view of the world, proceed. Many people, myself included, choose not to use an extended warranty.
Buying an extended warranty requires careful reading of the fine print. What is covered, and what is not covered, may or may not be clear to you.
