What did you guys do with your Mercedes this weekend?

I wasn't sure where to post this, but this is just a friendly "what did you do to your Mercedes" thread. There may even already be a thread for this already.

Basically I want to know, what did you do with your Mercedes this weekend? Did you work on maintenance or service items for it? Did you install a new aftermarket part? Or did you just go for a cruise?

This weekend, I swapped out the tailgate on my w203 wagon. Backstory: In December, I was rear-ended at a red light, and the car was going to be totaled out by the other person's insurance (which I argued that I shouldn't be losing my car at the negligence of their customer, so they agreed to not total it, but I would be responsible for any more repairs that their check wouldn't cover, so I'm trying to do this mostly myself).

I got lucky and the pick-a-part yards here each had a wagon. Unfortunately, the brilliant silver wagon that one of the yards had was also rear-ended, so it wasn't any use to me. The other yard had a wagon in desert silver (I think that's the color name), and the difference isn't that terrible. I'd rather deal with the slight color mismatch instead of the smashed hatch until I can get it painted.

The only problem I'm running into now is that the latch does not fully press the door sensor switches in, so I get a message on the dash that my hatch is open when I start driving. I think I need to pull something back into place, but I'm not sure what or how.

Right after the accident. Another existing issue with my hatch was the spoiler. The tabs holding it to the hatch broke, causing it to rise up and scrape on the roof when opening the hatch (you can see the roof wrap peeling up). I took the spoiler off and used JB Weld to fix the tabs, but they eventually failed again and the spoiler went back to being too tall and scraping the roof.

Another angle of the damage.

The desert silver wagon at yard #2. I thought it was cool that it had the model number still, but I'll probably delete it anyways like I originally had.

Trim removed from the old hatch, wire harnesses disconnected and ready to be pulled out. The worst part of this whole process was trying to fit my socket and ratchet in to remove the screws holding the hatch to the hinges. I need to invest in some ratcheting wrenches. There's not really anything you can mess up with this. There are only a few things to be connected, and all of the cables are the length that they need to be, so it's easy to match them back up when installing the new hatch.

After the swap. This angle and lighting definitely cause the color difference to be most noticeable. There is white paint on my bumper from spilling paint while moving stuff for work (another story. I didn't bother to clean it off completely as it needs to be repainted anyway due to the accident. Does anyone have recommendations or suggestions for removing dry, interior water-base latex paint from carpet?)

Trunk cargo panel, most of the spilled paint ended up here. I want to modify this to hold my subwoofer and gain back lost trunk space. That may be my next project. My pup decided to photobomb and get a good whiff of the panel.
