Exclamation 2003 SL55 AMG Heater issues

Hello, i have a 2003 SL55 AMG and the heater seems to have a mind of it's own. I blows out of 2 vents only and it stays hot. I can not control the vents, temp or blower settings. Has anybody experienced this? I dont want to pay $1300 for a new control unit if it's just a sensor or something.

Have you done a diligent check of all vent modes, all fan levels and all temperatures? This should give you ideas to narrow the problem.

Are your coolant and refrigerant at proper levels? Are you sure?

Blowing out of two vents sounds like a flap actuator not functioning properly. Staying hot sounds like a water control valve that is not actuating properly. The common thread between those two things is the control unit.
