When to Trade / Sell my GLE 43 AMG Coupe

I'm a first time Mercedes owner and have been very pleased thus far. I'm just curious as to when the ideal time to trade / sell my GLE 43 AMG coupe would me? What mileage is the best time to get rid of these cars to maximize my trade value and to minimize my out of pocket repair costs once the warranty runs out in 2022. Thanks in advance.

A very subjective topic. One source is to play with the KBB tool and see the sensitivity of value on miles and age. It’s just one data point.

Another data point is to review similar spec listings on cargurus. And note the sensitivity of asking price to age and mileage. Just another point to throw in the mix.

A psychological “tipping point” is 100k miles. For no good reason, this seems to be where many/most vehicles drop in value. After, of course, the expiration of factory warranty, which is where value also drops.

The GLE43 has the twin turbo M276. This is an above average reliability engine for Mercedes. Mercedes in general has below average reliability across the brand.

In the end you need to weigh the cost and inconvenience of repairs and maintenance between holding a high mileage vehicle and buying or leasing a newer one. It’s a personal choice.

If you DIY and enjoy it, the answer is usually to keep the vehicle to high mileage, for example 200k miles. If you don’t DIY, or don’t enjoy it, you will make a different decision. I DIY and enjoy it, and target 200k miles for my vehicles.

Alternatives to DIY are independent repair shops or extended warranties, in descending order of financial attractiveness.

Way too many variables... and what is IDEAL to you?

WHy not keep it and spend less money then buying another new/used car?
