Exclamation Why one of my tire sensor data is 0?

In general, tire sensors constantly measure the air pressure inside the tire. The sensor transmits that information via low-frequency radio to the vehicle's on-board computer. Pros usually refer to tire sensors as TPMS, Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Since it transmits data to a “computer”, each of the sensor has its own ID, so for common cars, the four sensor ID has separating data stream like pressure and temperature.

So when the TPMS warning light comes on, the tire might have issues, or, the sensor itself doesnt work anymore(like the title). For the latter situation, we just need to replace the sensor, but an additional step is needed----match the new sensor to car “computer”.

To know which one of the four sensors has problem, we can read fault code first for confirmation. And get 01521 tire pressure sensor. And then read live data for for sensors, LF, LR, RF, RR, find that all three wheels are 2.081.773.353 Status 00h, but RR is 0.000.000.000 Status 00h. So simply replace RR sensor. Too many cheap tools can read codes and live data, just pick one and make sure it covers your vehicle model, mines is Topdon EliteCAN.

For the matching phase, usually it requires tap replace tire on the car computer interface and then drive for less than 20mins in slower than 40km/h. For example, Audi Q7, you just confirm replacing tire on MMI® Navigation plus, Benz is MBUX, and drive for a while to let it have time to recognize the new sensor.
