'14 ML350 CPO and '14 GL450 CPO. Wife complained that her '14 ML350 smelled inside. So I watched a couple of youtube vids, ordered the filters from Amazon and installed them in both cars as they are the same. After I got all 3 filters out of the ML, I started the engine and sprayed some mold/mildew remover into the filter box. When the engine is running a door comes down to block off the box, but I was able to lift it up a little to get the nozzle in. Spritzed it a few times and installed the new filters. Smell gone. For how long? We'll see.
My GL spends most of its time taking me back and forth to the golf course so I can play terrible golf 3 times a week. It spends a lot of time parked under pine trees. When I took out the GL filters I got a bit of a surprise. The dust filter had a slight tinge of yellow from pine pollen. But the particle filters? Oh boy! You can see the old one side by side with the new one. And remember. The pollen got through the dust filter. Moral of the story? Check and change those filters.
