extended warranty
Be very careful on the extended warranty!! cause MOST dealers sell you a aftermarkit warranty and read the fine print!! also pick up autoweek and check out several other extended warranty companies for a LOT LESS

Actually aftermarket warrantiesare not too bad, as long as you read the fine print and find out how long they have been in business. Mercedes only offers extended warranties to the original purchaser of the vehicle if the vehicle has less than 12,000 miles on it at the time of purchase. After that, the vehicle has to be sold from a MB dealer with a Starmark certification. So the reality is only aftermarket warranties available after the 12K mark.

I've been using www.warrantygold.com since 1995 and I highly recommend them. So far we've had it on two cars and on both of them repairs (that were covered by warranty) have already surpassed what I paid for the warranty. I plan to get it on all my future cars.
When compared to dealer warranties, I usually find that Warranty Gold is half as expensive, with much better coverage. The funnies thing is at a repair shop or dealership the manager almost always tells us "they won't cover this" only to call them and it IS covered.
You also have until the manufacturer's warranty runs out on your car to get Warranty Gold, so you don't have to get it right away.
