Mexico and cars....

I've lived in and traveled Mexico a lot. They have all the car makes we have here and more (no US import requirements). High end car mechanics are harder to find and more widely dispersed than in the US. Not a lot of MB/Ferrari/BMW etc. dealers around but they exist in the bigger cities. The driving environment in the big cities is chaotic like any big city and fender benders are common and 'no big thing'. Country driving is two lane highways often slowed by cargo trucks and farm machinery. Everyone there knows how to race a car Safe? I rode motorcycles and drove cars all through Mexico and was never in a collision. People with high end cars are treated very well because the assumption is you have money and belong to the upper crust of society. There is a BIG class division in Mexico with lots of visibly poor people (by our standards).
Roads range from good to needing repair and large potholes are common. Some sections of highways are multiple lanes and kept in good condition while others need repair. Gas there is inferior and octane questionable but usable. Best of all is the people are nice and friendly and willing to share (and accept your money :o ).
