Problem with my A220D urban, 14/03/2022 was towed into Constantia Kloof as the vehicle would not start , every warning message and warning light displayed.
On close to two weeks that they had the car, I was informed that they had replaced the battery and ignition kit. But I had no faith they actually found the problem, as communication throughout was they could not find the problem but would keep checking the vehicle, only on the day I had to collect my vehicle did they inform me that they had replaced battery and ignition, when I asked “so this will not happen again” the response was “well if it does then we know that the Battery and ignition was not the problem”.
27/06 tried to leave work, same story …car would not start , all the warning lights and messages show.
Try calling Roadside assist 0800133355, I started calling at 17:18 and continued to19:16
“The number you have dialed is not available please try again later”…. Really Mercedes are you kidding me!!!! A single women stuck with a malfunctioning car, in Booysen on a Monday evening. Ridiculous!!!
Tried roadside assist at 08:00 on the 28/06, same message, clearly there is no roadside assist , you are o your own.
Called Constantia Kloof Merc – they were able to transfer me to roadside assist, spot the problem when the dealership closes at 5pm you cannot call them to get transferred to roadside assist!!!
Roadside assist then can’t find my vehicle on their systems with my Reg. FY76LCGP, not possible when you towed my vehicle 3mnths ago. What a problem Roadside assist has.
Eventually found my car on the system using my name and surname..
A very traumatic experience for a single woman, in JHB, to have such and unreliable car and to top it off poor, poor backup service from a supposed top brand.
I am astounded that this is what I have received from a name brand - Mercedes Benz SA.??
You have left me with such a bitter taste in my mouth that I will never purchase a merc again and I can assure you I will continue to let everyone know of my sad and disappointed experience, which at the time between 17:00 and19:30 in the evening was quite traumatic to say the least!

My I please add to the email sent yesterday, the dealership contacted me today, 10:53.
I (The Customer) had to explain to the dealership why my wheel was not aligned😊
……Well when a car it towed and has to be moved so that it can be hoisted onto a flatbed the Merc Technician dismantles the front right wheel so the car can be moved!
Some Training and skills need attention.
Oh and so much for spending R 600 000.00 on a motor vehicle , they will not offer, nor give you a courtesy car, this Brand of Motor vehicle is failing dismally with regards to customer service and satisfaction.
