Please Help!! $8500 (18%) price increase for same specs?!! 2022 vs 2023 CLA250
It breaks my heart especially after knowing my car will arrive at the port soon in Canada, just got informed about the 2023 CLA250 quote today. Not sure if my dealer is trying to milk my $ or there is a mistake. Was told that since there will be no major difference 2022 vs 2023 model, I should expect to see around few hundreds or around $1000 increase (around 1-3%) for a car with same specs. But 17-18% increase for a car with same specs is just too crazy for me to believe. Especially for a non AMG entry level Mercedes
The car itself only increases by $600, but the options are crazy. For a reference $600 to $2750 for night package ($2150 option increase, almost 5x) Technology package $1600 to $4600 ($3000 increase, almost 3x), wheels from $500 to $1040 ($540 increase, 2x). I understand we are currently having chip shortage inflation etc, but for this case, please tell me I'm not supposed to expect this much increase?
I am wondering if the Sales Associate have access to modify the MSRP price? Considering the pricing for CLA250 on Mercedes Canada website is not available yet. I think they're just putting whatever number they want as a placeholder. I also wonder when can I expect to see the price on the website for 2023 Mercedes?

Seems outrageous to me. Without a pricing guide or some other form of verification I would be skeptical, at least, and quite shocked to find out it is a legitimate increase. The world has gone crazy and over the last couple years it appears people are willing to throw silly amounts of money at anything they want. If you don't take the car, they know someone will walk in willing to pay a for it. I would have to tell them to shove it where the sun don't shine and walk away.
